Avar hanging belt ornament

This hanging belt ornament was found at Dunaszentgyörgy-Tengelic, Hungary. Avars (7-8th c.) decorated their bells with smaller strips of leather which hang from the main belt. The end of these hanging belts were often decorated with boar head ornaments. Raw material: bonze with golden coating.
